B.A., Northwest Nazarene University

Born and raised on the Kenai Peninsula in Southcentral Alaska, I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho, where I still oversee the Charles and Gladys Prescott Scholarship on behalf of my late “Alaskan Grandparents.” I had the opportunity to spend some time working at a college in Queensland, Australia after graduating, and 5 years in various positions at Wayland Baptist University-Anchorage Campus. I had the privileged of raising three amazing kids here in Anchorage with my husband, who is also Alaska born and raised. Coffee with real cream and dark chocolate makes me happy. Every vacation should have a beach and water. I like to cook–most of the time, and to read even more of the time. A knack for computers and editing videos and photos creates keeps me busy. Playing the piano and singing hymns in my church fills me with joy.

I believe that education has the power to change lives and families, as it has in my family. Supporting Alaska Pacific University in providing a quality education to it’s students is meaningful to me. I am a third generation college graduate on my mom’s side, and my father was a first-generation college graduate when he finished in his fifties. My dad was able to complete his +30 year college journey with me supporting (he lived with us) and encouraging him as his Admissions Counselor at WBU. I try to bring that same dedication to encouraging APU’s students as they navigate their educational experience. Those APU students include two of my grown children, one of which graduated Spring 2025.
