Sarah Williamson

Graduate Student

Sarah is a master’s student in Marine and Environmental Science studying marine viruses and the effects of temperature on viral fitness traits. Before joining the FAST Lab, she spent over nine years as a North Pacific fisheries observer and served as the observer representative on the Fishery Monitoring Advisory Committee for the North Pacific Fishery Management Council. She also worked as a setline survey specialist for the International Pacific Halibut Commission for three years. In the FAST Lab, she mentors undergraduate students and contributes to machine learning projects that support fish identification in electronic monitoring systems for Alaska’s commercial fisheries.
