Application Fee
A $25 application fee is required for all applications submitted. Applications submitted a month prior to the start of the semester for which you are applying will be assessed a $50 application fee.

Step 3 Submit Additional Supporting Documents
All documents listed below must be submitted in order to complete your application for admission. An admission decision will not be made until all required documents are received.
A personal essay or writing sample (see application)
We would like to know who you are, why you would like to attend Alaska Pacific University, and how you express yourself. Please choose one of the following essay options below and submit a double-spaced, typed essay of at least 500 words. Regardless of the option you choose, please include a brief explanation of why you would like to attend APU.
- Discuss a significant event or achievement that has shaped your values and goals.
- Describe a book, author, or individual who has had an impact on your development as a person.
- Tell us about your passions and interests and how they contribute to your personality.
- Send us a graded, written piece of work of which you are especially proud. Be sure that the work is significant enough to reflect the true level of your thinking and writing abilities. Be sure to include your teacher’s comments, and let us know the assignment’s requirements.
Official “in-progress” High School Transcript
Transcripts are considered official when received in an envelope that was sealed by the credit-awarding institution and arrive at APU unopened. Electronic transcripts are also accepted when sent directly to APU from the credit-awarding institution via a secured electronic transcript service. All official electronic documents must be sent to admissions@alaskapacific.edu.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better on an unweighted 4.0 scale.
- Applicants must be eligible for placement into Intermediate Algebra or beyond.
Interview
Applicants who meet these standards may then be invited for an admissions interview. After successful completion of the interview phase, an admission decision will be issued in writing.
Scholarship Information
Because EHP students are not eligible for federal financial aid, APU has taken initiative to help off–set the cost of this fantastic program. Thanks to generous support from First National Bank of Alaska and other supporters, we are proud to offer students the opportunity to apply for scholarships. Step 4 Complete the Online Application
Please note you will need to create a new account to begin your online application. This new username and password is only for the application and will cease to be valid once you submit the completed application. An Admissions Counselor will contact you within a week after receiving your application to discuss any other documents necessary to complete your application.
Step 5 Wait for your Acceptance Decision
Once all required documents have been received, your application will be reviewed for an admission decision. If you have questions about the status of your application, please login to your myAPU Applicant Portal.
