APU Connect
Help grow the next generation of Alaska educators through APU’s Teacher Apprenticeship Program. In partnership with school districts across the state, aspiring teachers can remain in their home communities while earning a bachelor’s degree in Community and Place-Based Education and their K–8 teaching certification. This innovative, earn-while-you-learn model strengthens local schools by preparing educators who know, serve, and are invested in their communities.

Alaska Native Executive Leadership Program
Develop the next generation of Alaska Native leaders through the Alaska Native Executive Leadership Program (ANELP). Created in partnership with Alaska Native corporations and organizations, this nine-month graduate certificate equips emerging executives with the leadership, business, and strategic decision-making skills needed to strengthen their organizations and communities. Through mentorship, applied learning, and collaboration, ANELP prepares leaders to drive lasting impact across Alaska.

Leadership Anchorage
Grow your leadership alongside Alaska’s changemakers through Leadership Anchorage. Offered in partnership with the Alaska Humanities Forum, this graduate-level program combines experiential learning, mentorship, and community engagement to help established and emerging leaders strengthen their impact while earning academic credit through APU.

Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate
Help address Alaska’s healthcare workforce needs through APU’s Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program. In partnership with healthcare providers across the state, including Alaska Native Medical Center, Foundation Health Partners, and Bartlett Regional Hospital, students receive hands-on clinical training while preparing to deliver culturally safe, high-quality care in the communities that need it most.

Gui Kima
Inspire the next generation of Indigenous leaders through Project Gui Kima. In partnership with the Anchorage School District, this culturally grounded program connects Alaska Native high school students with elders, mentors, and culture bearers while exploring college, career, and leadership pathways through immersive summer experiences at APU.
