Meet the Team
As the Advancement Team’s Grants Coordinator, Kala works with faculty and staff on formatting grants and ensuring compliance. She coordinates all grant activities to ensure a smooth process for all parties involved.
Special Thanks
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) was fortunate to be one of only a handful of recipients to receive a University of Kentucky SuRE SEED grant. Funding from this grant allowed us to temporarily hire two 2025 Alumnae, Laura Ditto and Raelene Active. They both brought valuable student perspectives and in exchange they were able to gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire grants management lifecycle. They actively participated in several projects including the improvement of IRB processes, development of sponsored programs-specific webpages, navigating grant training requirements, faculty engagement, and exploration of new ways to find funding opportunities. The SuRE SEED funding and Laura and Raelene’s contributions have been invaluable to APU’s OSP!
