Elders Council

APU’s vision is Honoring Alaska’s Indigenous heritage, exemplifying excellence, and preparing paths. The Alaska Native Elders Council was formed in 2019 in recognition of the important role that our Elders have in guiding and strengthening APU’s effort to achieving our vision. The Elders Council’s mission is to support, strengthen, and ensure the development, integration, and prioritization of encompassing Alaska Native knowledge, language, values, perspectives, history, and concerns in education at Alaska Pacific University. The Elder representatives, which include alumni and friends representing Alaska Tribes throughout the state are humbled and honored to fulfill this role.
